Dear Minnie:
HELP!! Have been
surfing for hours to no avail. I have absolutely no sexual desire--am on
herbal replacement therapy for a year. Has helped my many other symptoms--but
still no desire. What will increase my libido????
Looking for Love
Dear Looking:
Hi Pam.....thanks for writing! I just
hope you aren't looking for answers on your lunch hour!! hahahah.... I'm
afraid I can't help you that quickly! :) If you go to the NewShe.com
site, you should find some helpful info there (check out the testosterone
articles).
There's also this book to check out (which
you can order on my site: http://www.minniepauz.com/books.html)
The Hormone of Desire : The Truth About
Testosterone, Sexuality, and Menopause by Susan Rako, M.D
The other suggestion I have for you is
to type "low libido" into a search engine (like www.google.com
for instance) and slowly read through the links until you find something
that sounds like what you might need. Hope this helps........there's just
so much information out there and each woman is so different! Let me know
if any of this helps your situation!
Sincerely,
Minnie
Dear Minnie:
Is it normal for
the hot flashes to stop for a while and then come back. Mine have
stopped for a few days .
I don't know if
this happens to other people. Maybe that is why it is called
meno pause. Maybe I am on a pause.
Pausing in Pittsburg
Dear Pausing,
Yes, that is very normal and you're right
about the "pause" part. Our hormones are constantly fluctuating so the
symptoms will also be different from day to day. Since the process of going
through menopause can take from 5 to 13 years, the best attitude is to
stay mindful of what is going on (as you seem to be doing), and appreciate
those days when you don't have the flashes. You also might want to keep
a journal and make note of any remedies you've tried recently that may
have reduced your hot flashes.
Sincerely,
Minnie
