April 2002

Dear Minnie:
I have all 35 possible symptoms you wrote about. Just in the last few weeks I have gotten sick of myself, for I know this isn't me. I have a yearly doctor's check up on the 23rd of this month and I have underlined every symptoms that relates to me.  Thanks for this site.

Dear Reader:
Thanks for writing and good luck with your checkup.......going in there with the information you now have will allow you to communicate to your doctor that you are a participant in your health, not just a bystander. No need to panic, just be aware of what is going on with your body and stay informed by reading as much information as you can.

Sincerely,
Minnie

Dear Minnie:
I have gained so much weight in the last 2 years (i've been going through menopause at least 3 yrs now with a lenghly pre-menopause). I've tried every diet plus pill (xenical) but never more than 3 or 4 pounds can be lost. Pleaseeeee, is this typical? If one can lose weight during menopause, how is it done?

Dear Reader:
You definitely need to read "The Menopause Diet", by Dr. Larrian Gillespie. You can get information from this website: http://menopausediet.com

Sincerely,
Minnie

Dear Minnie:
I would like to see some information, or hear from some women who have experienced menopause in thier early thirties. I am thirty-one, and started menopause just over a year ago. It is odd to start so young, and it is difficult to find information about women my age. My biggest question however is: What happens after menopause? Do get my brain back? What are the physical changes? Do I go back to being "normal"?
J

Dear J,
There is an excellent site for those in early menopause (either natural or surgical). It's called Early Menopause.com! :) You will find the answers to your questions, plus a lot of support and helpful information.

Sincerely,
Minnie
