hello ladies, i am new to the site and am wondering if having a parial hystorectomy can speed up the onset of symptoms. thankyou all. :( :shock:

Hi Tammy,

By a partial hysterectomy, I assume you mean surgical removal of the uterus while leaving the ovaries behind. That can speed the onset of symptoms; for some reason, ovaries post-hysterectomy are more prone to quitting business, at times within months of the surgery.

If you're having symptoms, even if you're 'too young for menopause,' ask your doctor to check your hormone levels.
