Here's a question....

For those of you who are just beginning this wonderful process, here we can narrow down the symptoms and ask questions like "am I starting perimenopause?"

Here's a question....

Why is it called a hot "flash"... the word "flash" implies fast. Whooosh! and its all over.

I am currently in the middle of a hot flash that has gone on for almost 40 minutes. And this isn't the only time. I've never had a hot whooosh! flash. They've all been like this...

They should be called rapid onset sweat sessions followed by cold clammy time.

*grumble grumble grumble*

:D

Wow! 40 minutes! Mine last about 5 minutes but 5 minutes is long enough to want to rip off my clothes and get in front of a fan blowing on 'High'! Of course, by the time I go through all that--the hot 'session' is over. Yeh--hot FLASH my foot!

Mine are typically five to ten minutes. And if I stand in front of a fan for a couple minutes, I'm fine.

But today, it just wouldn't stop! Gah!

it's called hot flush in the U.K. :D as the face flushes I think :)

I just thank God I haven't had any yet...although I do get hot some nights, but then it may have been too many drinks the evening before, :D and, also, we've only been out of humid weather a few weeks...so hard to tell.
