This is so unbelievable to me!! I was worried if I would make it past 3 mo. since that's the only amount of time I managed to quit before...really, I was cheating but still thought I was doing good. :)

I feel so proud of myself....grandkids are happy for me....saving so much money....not coughing AT smells better....saving so much money$$$$$$..... :) I know I said that twice, but it's really a big deal!

Well done!!!

Well done Dee! :D

I know how hard it is to quit smoking, I was in your shoes once. I have not smoked for almost 11 years now. The first few months are the hardest, but you have got through it. As the months go by it will get easier, so keep it up you can do it!

Again well done!! :D

Well done!!

Congratulations Dee for quitting 6 months.

I'm one month behind you and its getting easier every day (thank goodness).

As you say, everything (including me) smells fresh. I don't have to feel guilty when a anti smoking commercial or news item comes on tv (which BTW was always when I had just lit up  )

I even have less dust around the house (from smoke particles) it's great!
Just not having to do so much cleaning is worth it on its own

Big pats on the backs all round :D

Well done to you: (from one who knows how hard it is)

Congrats to you too DayDreamer!! What are you doing with all the money you're saving??? :) I am amazed every time I go to the store and my bill is so much lower because I didn't buy cigarettes. The first month I bought myself a toaster over, then some new clothes and finally a new car! hahahah....well, a used car, but now I can afford to make the payments. :)

Hi Dee

Thanks for the congrats too :D

Well.....about saving money. I haven't really felt the same benefit because I was determined (at the same time) to try my own business from home. It is taking much longer than anticipated to get off the ground enough to pay all my bills. I had to take a part-time job in a shop to supplement my business (a dream I've had for years and never had the guts to try). Although I have had very favourable reviews of my work, I still have to live.......I wouldn't have been able to afford to smoke anyway: but you and I both know I would have found the money somehow (even if I didn,t eat!!!) if I was still addicted

However, I'm still amazed I managed to quit, just as you are :D and look forward to the time when I can be self sufficient enough to look back and thank goodness it hasn't gone up in smoke

How's the business going??? Did you ever mention what it was? :)

Hi Dee

My business is steady at the moment. I did mention it after you asked what I did after the "Puffy Crotch Rapping" incident !!!!! :D

I draw portraits of people and pets in pastel. I have always drawn things for my friends etc. and throughout my life people have told me that I should do it for a living........easier said than done though when the bills need paying!

I came to a cross roads in my life after leaving a full time corporate job I hated last December. The first six months were wonderful for the soul, but not so much for the stresses of worry over regular income!!! I've solved it in the short term I hope by taking a part time job in a local shop. It cuts down my portrait time (especially at my busiest for Christmas) but at least it takes away the financial stresses to some extent!!!

Because I want my business to build through recommendation I know it will take time, but I get so much satisfaction out of the joy I see on peoples faces when they see their commissions for the first time it almost completely compensates for any financial hardships along the way:(although my DH says I have to be realistic and keeps my feet on the ground!!!) LOL

Anyways Dee. I've still quit smoking and hardly ever think about it anymore, Thank Goodness :D

I'm SO glad I don't smell anymore like those I come across frequently who have just stubbed one out!

I feel embarrassed now that I must have smelled the same (even after popping in a mint and a spray of perfume after a crafty one !)

Thanks for asking. I hope you are still happy and healthy too after quitting. :D

Oh yes!! 8 months now and I'm still a quitter! I felt all the same things you's very hard to keep my mouth shut now to other smokers too.

I remember now about your business!! Didn't you give us a website? It seems that I saw some of your work and was flabbergasted! Maybe I can help promote you!! We'll have to talk about it further....

Never mind, LOL ....... Just blame the meno :D

Perhaps (I hope) you will be flabberghasted over my artwork one day :!:

Take care.
