This is from the North American Menopause Society (are they finally getting on the ball that it's not all just about hot flashes?)

How to Keep That Smile a While

Good oral hygiene is especially important at midlife and beyond. Brushing and flossing daily, and having regular dental checkups and professional dental cleaning twice yearly, are recommended. Here’s why:

As women age and their estrogen levels decline at menopause, some women (and their dentists) may start to notice the following dental and oral changes:

"Burning" mouth and tongue
Hot and cold tooth sensitivity

Thanks for the information. A lot of dental health problems do come with age, but I think that good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups can keep them at bay. Dentist in Orange

I agree; it's not just hot flashes! But seriously, a lot of complaints I hear from other women have to do with their teeth. Some of them say that their teeth are a bit loose or their gums feel a bit painful at times. This is why it's necessary to visit the dentist regularly.
